Biography
I was born on 8th of February, 1978 in Kherson, former USSR. Began to play chess at the age of five. In 2000 I have finished Kherson State Technical University with diplomas of the mechanical engineer and the economist. After this I have started my professional chess career. Became an International Master in 2001 and International Grandmaster in January 2007. My best rating so far was 2601 (in September 2009). Actual rating 2578 makes me №23 player in Ukraine.
In 2004 I married Elena Sukhotina, our son Maxim was born on 14 of November 2009. Now we live in Kherson, Ukraine.
My hobbies are: books (audiobooks during the travel), movies, football. I like to travel around the world and I do this when going to play in chess tournaments.
Few words about my style of play: I am very agressive player – 1.e4 by White, Sicilian and other sharp systems by Black are my favorites. But sometimes I like to switch for much more quiet openings (Petroff, QGA) or try something offbeat (like Nimzowitsch Opening 1.e4 Nc6).
