International Open Stuttgart City Championship took place from 13th to 16th of May 2010. 125 players participated in group A, among them 5 GMs and 6 IMs. The fight was very tough: it’s worth mentioning that in Round 3 game (on photo) against Boris Latzke (ELO 2273) Yuri saved a day only by miracle! Before the last round five players lead the Championship with 5/6: GMs Ikonnikov, Solodovnichenko and Gutman, IM Dobosz and FM Strunski. “Solo” won with Black against Lev Gutman and shared the first place with Viacheslav Ikonnikov but better tiebreak gave the first prize to Yuri’s hands.
